Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP)

2020-ravenswood-3971-2-2

What is the Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program?

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) provides checks to older adults to help them purchase fresh fruits and vegetables. SFMNP is only available in certain counties in Illinois.

How Does it Work?

SFMNP benefits can be redeemed at participating farmers’ markets to purchase locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables, and honey during the summer season.

If a participant is unable to get to a farmers’ market, a proxy may use SFMNP on their behalf.

No change is given if participants do not redeem the full amount of their checks.

If participants go over the value of their check they must pay the difference.
