Older adults participating in one of the following programs are automatically eligible for CSFP:
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Low-Income Subsidy Program (LIS, also called “Extra Help”) available under the Medicare Part D prescription drug program
- Medicare Savings Programs (MSP).
For CSFP, household income must be under 130 percent of the Federal Poverty Level. Gross income includes all income from your job or self-employment, and other income like social security, disability, child support, worker’s comp, unemployment, and pension income.
